Girders being positioned

Girders carried by workmenThe EziDek girders are delivered to the work site by long-reach crane truck.

Girders are lifted directly onto the job by the crane or if site access is difficult, the girders are easily carried by two men onto the job from the off load point.

Polystyrene formers are then installed (below left). Minor adjustments to girder spacing (below right) are made to allow for services through the slab, such as sewer stacks, conduit, etc.Girder SpacingFormers installed

Girder spacing can be easily adjusted to increase load-bearing capacity (above right).

All Polystyrene Formers are supplied in standard 750 mm (Maximum width) or 550 mm widths and standard depths to allow for 90 mm or 100 mm slab thicknesses. Non-standard formers can be produced to cater for different slab thicknesses.

Fire and Termite Collars (below left) for service penetrations positioned and glued to polystyrene former prior to top mesh being placed in position.

Electrical conduits (above right) are installed prior to top mesh being positioned. Conduits are placed below the top chord of the girders to maintain steel top cover.
Minimum props (below left) required for spans exceeding 3m, allowing easy access for trades to continue below as soon as 24hrs after a pour. The slab is then poured.
